Foxsky - The Whip (JEFF032)

image

The world of dance music is at times, really missing melody. There are too many songs that just feed you one weird sound again and again and again. But that’s fine, they have their time and place but so does Foxsky’s “The Whip.” This is music from a Zelda game of tomorrow, A Link to the Future 2099. You’ll find yourself air pianoing this song after the first listen. It’s 8 bit cinematic floor filler at moombahton tempo that ends with victorious, “we’re heading home, we won the mission” vibes. And if the original wasn’t enough, we have packed the release with huge remixes. Jeffree alumni ETC!ETC! and The Reef each give their own take on the “The Whip”, these are huge. We also find newcomer Vass with a massive trap remix that we can’t get off repeat, then we finish it off with Udachi’s dark bmore club influenced reimagination of Foxsky’s banger.

Kennedy Jones - Came To Party (JEFF053)

Kennedy Jones is killing it. Every DJ in the history of our planet is playing his trap remix of Elvis Crespo’s infamous “Suavemente.” This time around he ramps up the vibe of his music even more with “Came to Party,” bringing sheer madness to his sonic coliseum. In fact, it’s like a King Arthur jousting match on Mars with the coliseum full of strippers. We call it rodeo donk trap, just because. You can call it what you want.

Cadenza & Nasher - Gyal Town (JEFF051)

image

“Gyal Town” is a special collab for the latest Jeffree from Londoners, Cadenza, and Nasher.  Cadenza has a long history with bass music, so it’s no surprise to see such a sophisticated style of blended sounds and rhythms from him. Nasher, a natural performer who placed 2nd in a UK DJ competition at the age of only 14 and, since the age of 17, is now playing on KISS100, energizes “Gyal Town” through raw talent. From the future-juke toms that start off the track to the chopped “Amen Break” and eerie vocals, “Gyal Town” is a colorful collage of sounds that will murder forward-thinking dance floors around planet Earth.

Moska - Insane feat. Antoine Becks (JEFF041)

image

When you first hear that Mad Decent is putting out it’s first release with someone from Colombia you might be expecting some cumbia or a hybrid genre you’ve never heard of before. If you thought that you would definitely be wrong, Moska from Cali, Colombia makes some of the biggest big room tunes that has had Tiësto flipping out. Along with Tiësto, “Insane” has found other renowned supporters from the like of Laidback Luke and Diplo to name a few. With it’s obligatory “pouring your heart out in love” vocals from Antoine Becks contrasted with a drop reminiscent of a cut rave scene from “12 Monkeys”, Moska is about to start a revolution.Download for a limited time free on Soundcloud!

Mr. Carmack - Birth Control / Hopscotch (JEFF053)

image

Mr Carmack aka Aaron Carmack is a Hawaii-based producer blurring the distinction between Hip Hop and Dance Music in a progressive way that has even the most seasoned producers scratching their heads. His current rise to fame started with the self-released Bang, Vol 3 followed by the Life/Death EP, which both achieved the #1 best selling album on Bandcamp consecutively. Supported by the likes of RL Grime, GTA, Plastician, Djemba Djemba, S Type, Elair Fifi as well as appearances on BBC Radio 1, Mr. Carmack’s global domination has only just begun.

Jeffrees presents two brand new tracks from Mr. Carmack, “Birth Control” and “Hopscotch”. “Birth Control” leads the way with twerk’d out hand claps over a jerky squeaky ass beat that shifts gear into a wavy yet compressed early 2000′s Neptunesque synth line. “Hopscotch” follows that up with Mr. Carmack’s own pitched up Sugarhill-like vocals over the most sloppy head knocker we’ve ever released.

Bert On Beats - Dab (JEFF042)

image

Bringing tons of bass and weird ass sounds to such genres as Tropical Bass, Dancehall and UK Garage, Bert On Beats has created his own lane in dance music over the last few years. With his latest song “Dab” he has definitely out done himself. It’s builds around a catchy tropical melody strangely reminiscent of Wiley’s “Eskimo” riddim. Follow that up with a drop that envisions being held captive inside of a satanic circus pinball machine, being catapulted, pushed and pulled across the playfield. If that wasn’t enough taking it even more directions is Dj Sliink’s huge remix, where he does what he does best represents Jersey with his signature sound but flips the beat entirely too many times to count. “Dab” is a total monster and Bert on Beats is the official king of future tropical madness.

Vjuan Allure - Vjuanage (JEFF039)

image

When you hear Vjuan Allure’s unmistakable “Elite Beatz” beat tag you know you’re about to hear something groundbreaking from one of the originators and leaders of the “new sound” in ballroom music. All these tracks are the most forward thinking ballroom house tracks we’ve ever heard. Gone are the overused “Ha’s” at the end of every bar and recycled edits.  2 years in the making, we’re excited to give you this stacked release of 6 huge new ballroom tracks.

”Kid Conga (Rebounced)  feat. Daniel Haaksman & MC Miltinho” starts off the EP with MC Miltinho’s famous vocal and over the course of the next 6 minutes builds and evolves into pure chaos.  The tracks that follow “Da Aktavata”, “Double Up”, “Fierce and Shady Tens”and “The En-Na-Er-Gi Bounce (Rebounced)” all aim to push ballroom and it’s signature raw, dark, staccato rhythms into new, uncharted territory. Fianlly rounding out the EP we have “Percussonix,” Vjuan’s wild ballroom tribute to Cashmere’s “percolator”. With tracks that average in a around 5 minutes each, you’ll hear something new everytime you play this heat.

Yellow Claw - Amsterdam Trap Music (JEFF045)

image

Yellow Claw may not be a household name outside of the Netherlands but have a look at their youtube channel and you’ll be hard pressed to find one of their singles with less than a 2,000,000 views. They take the newest sounds from the club and drive them off a cliff. The ATM or Amtsterdam Trap Music EP is nothing short of that insanity. Their brand new EP for Jeffree’s starts off with “Kaolo” a eastern infused banger with mad dhol’s from the start that turns into tripped out tibetan trap complete with monk bells and prayers. W.O.L.F follows that with a track built around a vocal phrase that never gets tired, “Turn up the volume, Watch the bass get them open”, pure fire. “4 in the Morning,” is another huge trap selection with a perfect rnb vocal hook. The drop sounds like a murder scene from an all cyborg version of Psycho. Yellow Claw rounds out the package with “21 Bad Bitches” their swaggest out players anthem. All these tracks are locked and ready to go, the amsterdam trap sound is a monster.

Jahan Lennon - Can’t Ruin My Fun EP (JEFF047)

From the name to the sound, it seems singer/producer Jahan Lennon may fancy  himself as a bit of a revivalist- which is great news for everyone! Following up his psych rock  collab with Diplo for “About That Life”,  Jahan Lennon gives us a brand new 3 song EP of carefree baggy / madchester influenced cuts. Along with its staple drumloop “Can’t Ruin My Fun” produces vocal melodies u haven’t heard since the “90s”. The second track “Tell Me”, sees Jahan digging up some old drum machines and a casio to create the soundtrack to a forgotten Steve Guttenberg romantic comedy. Diplo describes “Tell Me” as the “Indian Ace Of Bass” but we also  hear a little MJ  influence. The final track “Always” , is psychedelic folk pop at its best, co-written and produced by brother Shoaib Ali and childhood best friend Junior Fourth “after an intense DMT session”. Clocks slowly melt around you while you listen to Jahan and your life is slowed down to half time. With these songs Jahan Lennon aims to reach the common ground between loop based baggy beats from bands like Happy Mondays, Primal Scream and a parallel  scene known as “The Asian Underground” / “UK Massive” with a vocal style and delivery that is uniquely Jahan.

Lady Bee - Sweet like Chocolate (JEFF043)

Buy Sweet Like Chocolate on Jeffree’s Vol.7: smarturl.it/JEFFVOL7

Lady Bee has the beats…kicking off 2013 in true style with her two debut produced tracks “Sweet Like Chocolate” and “Murda Dem” for Jeffree’s. ”Sweet Like Chocolate” is Lady Bee’s cover of Shanks and Bigfoot’s classic UKGarage/2Step anthem, with bouncing beats and an infectious synth riff interspersed by a nagging telephone ring tone this banger has already seen support from Alvaro, Partysquad and Vato Gonzalez. Taking a sharp turn from the bouncy “Sweet Like Chocolate” Lady Bee showcases her broad adoration for different music styles with the self produced hard hitting Moombahton track “Murda Dem”. Using wiggling beats, dark bass and accentuating ragga vocal chants, Lady Bee creates a bottom shaker, straight for the peak time DJ-sets. Rounding out the package fellow DJ’s Skitzofrenix and Efferson take all the elements of “Sweet Like Chocolate” and flip into crazy westcoast influence trap cut, perfect for anyone with “turnt up” and “ratchet” in their vernacular. Three huge songs with something for everybody.

LIZ - XTC (JEFF040)

image

Purchase on Itunes: smarturl.it/JEFFVOL7

Purchase on Amazon: amzn.com/B00BLZKA1C

While channeling the guilty pleasure of throwback Brandy, Mariah and Destiny’s Child mixed with new sounds reminiscent of Future, LIZ is a born and raised valley girl by way of Tarzana, CA making ageless pop gold. She effortlessly adopts modern R&B’s glossiest melodies and subtly infuses the streets to create tasteful post-ratchet lollipop sounds. Out of the gate, her first offering “XTC” on Mad Decent’s Jeffree’s label, is best put as candy painted melodies over trapped out Y2K bubblegum beats. The B-side “Underdogs”, follows right behind as a retro futuristic shout out anthem to the unicorn in side of everyone.

Vato Gonzalez - Cats Are Evil (JEFF034)

image

Widely recognized as the originator of the “Dirty House” movement and producer of the 2011 smash “Badman Riddim,” Vato Gonzalez is no stranger to making groundbreaking club music. His current hit “Not A Saint” is still charting and seeing praise from all over the globe but he’s not stopping there. Although Vato has already collabed with Diplo on “Rasclat Riddim” and remixed Major Lazer’s “Jah No Partial” this is Vato’s first solo effort with the Mad Decent family and it’s a huge Jeffree release. A dark, deviant but yet fun tune “Cats Are Evil” is a song you’d hear played over the loud speaker during a jail riot on an alien planet far away. Weird species fighting each other in odd outfits while a crazy half human / half cat jail warden looks down from his crows nest office. These are club sounds that people will try to emulate but by that time Vato will have already been busy creating a whole new palette of sounds to leave you dancing and baffled.

Sibot - Magnet Jam (JEFF035)

image

Purchase Magnet Jame & No Question on Jeffree’s Vol.7 : smarturl.it/JEFFVOL7

Africa is a hub for some of the most out there Hip-Hop and Sibot has been a huge staple in the scene. From doing projects from Ninja (Die Antwoord) to Spoek mathabo and others to winning the SA DJ Battle Championship in 2002, he’s done it all. He now see’s his first Jeffree release packed with weird but catchy futuristic beats from a maniacal beathead genius. The title track “Magnet Jam” and “No Question” sound like Q-bert’s “Wave Twisters” for the next generation, weird spacey reverse suction cup beats for droids and punk rock robots. The final track is a lost tune from an unheard Cantina band from Star Wars, its like future funk for midget aliens that dance on the bar tops for bit coins. This said Sibot has clearly lost his mind, these are sounds are sounds you’ve never heard before that make you dance in unthought of ways.

The Reef - Ignant EP (JEFF033)

image

Purchase Tomb & Ignant on Jeffree’s Volume 7: smarturl.it/JEFFVOL7

At the time of writing this The Reef has 189 followers on Soundcloud, and frankly we don’t’ understand it. The 14 tracks available (mostly original) show a definitive style that you usually would only see from an accomplished artist with a ton of releases under their belt. The 23 year old Swede grew up with a love for Hip-hop listening to his brothers early Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep CD’s. This all is made clear when you hear his music, it sounds like sewer scenes from “Da Mystery of Chessboxin” music video look. A dark sewer with water dripping from pipes, bad air and it’s dark and sweaty in a bad way leaving you feeling uncomfortable and uneasy. “Ignant” is the lead tune off the EP and the drop is like the sound of the rainfall on an Alien planet where society is forced to live underground. “Tomb”is by far the most unplaceable, its sounds like a futuristic instrumental celebratory anthem for a rogue gregorian nomadic group in a post apocalyptical world, next up we have “Skunk” a disturbing and dark track from start to finish. All these tunes are a fraction of what The Reef has in store for music lovers on the darker side of dance music and we can’t wait to hear them all.
